What’s the difference between the IELTS and Cambridge exams? - Communicate School

What’s the difference between the IELTS and Cambridge exams?

We often get asked this question. This depends on your aims and goals and what you need the exam for.

✅If you need an English exam to go to university, the exam you need is most likely going to be academic IELTS.
✅Some universities accept Cambridge exams, but you will need to check the entry requirements for the course you want to study. This is also the case for the IELTS result.
✅If you are not sure which band you need in the exam, then check the university website for the entry requirements.
✅Some schools and jobs require Cambridge certificates and if this is the case for you, then you should enrol on a Cambridge course.
✅ IELTS has more of an academic English focus whereas Cambridge has a more everyday English focus. Both exams cover the 4 skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening with a high level of grammar and vocabulary being important to both.

At Communicate School you can join classes preparing for either exam every Monday
