Blog: Interview with George (Teacher) - Communicate School

Blog: Interview with George (Teacher)

Why did you choose a career in teaching English as a foreign language?

I’d always liked the idea of being a teacher so when I decided on a career change English was the most interesting avenue for me. I’ve always been fascinated by the English language.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Working with people from all over the world, I think. I find it fascinating. Learning about different cultures  and different parts of the world and seeing their view on the UK.

What were you like at school?

I wasn’t a great student, I didn’t do homework and things like that. I was always joking around and a little bit cheeky but in a good way. I was never bad. I used to get away with murder

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like movies a lot. I try to watch as many films as I can. I like socialising, spending time with my friends. We like going to things like ‘Escape Rooms’ and things like that, things that are a bit challenging and good adventures. I like gaming as well.

Who is your role model & why?

I was thinking about this the other day and I don’t think I really have a role model as such. I just try to focus on myself a bit and work on what works for me rather than aspiring to be like someone else.

How would your best friend describe you?

Funny, energetic and probably very loud. But very nice, I’m a very good friend.

What would your autobiography be called?

I honestly have no idea!

Describe your ideal Sunday morning?

Don’t set my alarm and wake up whenever my body wants to wake up. If it’s a nice warm sunny day, I go to the park with some friends. But in the winter I stay in bed as long as I can.

If you could describe Communicate in 3 words, what would they be?

Fun, friendly & professional.
